February 26(Reuters)-US President Donald Trump will hold his first one-on-one meeting with North Korean top leader Kim Jong-un in Vietnam on the evening of the 27th and then have dinner with advisers, White House spokesman Shala·sangdesi told reporters on Air Force One.
Vietnam's foreign ministry said on the 25th that Trump will arrive at Hanoi Inner Pai International Airport at 8:30 PM local time on the 26th. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at 11 am and 12 am local time on the 27th, Trump will hold talks with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ruanchunfu Fuzhong, and Vietnamese Prime Minister Zhao Weijun.
From 27 to 28, Trump and Kim Jong-un are scheduled to meet for the second time in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi.
A White House spokesman said Mr Trump would have his first one-on-one meeting with North Korean top leader Kim Jong-un in Vietnam on the evening of the 27th, followed by dinner with advisers. Follow-up talks with Kim Jong-un will be held on the 28th. Trump is expected to leave Vietnam on the 28th.
On June 12, 2018, Trump and Kim Jong-un held their first meeting in Singapore. The DPRK reiterated their commitment to the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. The US promised to provide security guarantees to the DPRK and the two sides reached an agreement on "building a lasting and stable peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula."
